GOW 2 slow as hell in GSdx SOFTWARE mode.

So if I run it at fullscreen 1920x1200, wait through the slowdowns and go into the Load screen, if I then exit PCSX2 using Esc, and re-load it, I stay at 215FPS even through the screen changes.

That was running with 8 threads, one for each of my cores. Anyway I don't recommend it, hardware is the way to go (constant 250 FPS throughout).

Yeh, you left pcsx2 no core to run on.
Lower the number of software rendering threads and you'll be fine Smile

Ah, lol. Yeah ok, runs perfect in software using 7 threads.

Hey Cody, how are your FPS rate in GOW2 with 7 threads in Software mode ?? I'm just curious. Smile Also, if it's not aksing too much, could you post some pictures with the FPS display ?? It would be great to see the performance of the core i7 extreme Laugh Cheers !

Yeah how's the performance on those games that really run slow in software mode on that number of threads? I wonder Wink

I have an E8500 duo core @ 3.17. Evga 9800 GX2 1GB. 4GB DDR3 PC1333. Stuck at 15fps in software mode of God War 2 and refuse to play it in hardware mode @ close to 60fps with a green screen. I have the new 0.9.6 PCSX2. I don't even know how to change the threads like how you guys are talking about in the above posts, or if that is even an option for me because I don't have an i7. Any recommendations on how to get faster fps in GoW2 in Software mode or eliminating the green screen in hardware mode? Without using VU...

with dual core @ 3ghz (or below ~5ghz ...) you are not going anywhere.
read the last pages of this thread if you want to know the reasons Wink

Right, is there anyway to run GOW2 on hardware mode WITH shadows?! It runs fine for me at x3 resolution, but without shadows, and I'm in no condition to run it in Software Mode due to my dual core.
