GPU never clocks up
#1
Hi, I've been experimenting with this emulator a lot today and noticed something odd. I've actually been getting significantly worse performance on my desktop than on my laptop with the games I've tried (Sly 2, Sly 3, Jak 2, Jak 3, Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando). It seems that these games tend to be problematic for most people, but that doesn't explain the performance discrepancy between my two systems. I also noticed that the GPU on my desktop never seems to leave idle clock speeds while running the emulator, which I assume is related. Any ideas what's going on and how to work around it?

Here are my system specs . . .

Desktop:
i7-2600K @ 4.4GHz
Gigabyte Z68 UD3H-B3
Sapphire Radeon 6850 1GB
8GB Ripjaw X DDR3 1600
500GB WD Caviar Blue
Seasonic X750 PSU

ASUS G73SW-XA1:
i7 2820QM
8GB HyperX DDR3 1600
Nvidia GTX460M
M4 128GB SSD + 750GB 7200 RPM HDD

It is wierd but in case you were at your wits' end, you could disable PowerPlay.

Wow, nevermind. Just had to make a Catalyst application profile for PCSX2 and now it's using the GPU and running great!

Thank you for the response though. Smile
