Did you also install the service packs? I think but i'm not sure that newer GSdx needs at least SP1, what happens when you try an older GSdx like the 0.1.14?

using the fresh pcsx2 0.9.6 with the default GSDX, i have dx10, so do i need to upgrade to sp1?

Why give him SP1 when SP2 is out? Do you even have a DX 10 video card?

SP2 needs SP1 to be installed. So he'll first need to install SP1 and then SP2. Yes his gfx card is DX10 compliant as seen in another post of his (4670 ati 512mb )
