Actually, if this was the only problem I wouldn't bother, however that is not the case. As well as the menu problems the game is completely unplayable as the characters on the mahjong tiles are not present, and it's a bit difficult to play a mahjong game without knowing what tiles you have. The tiles are simply blank, some kind of blending or priority issue? I don't know if this was the case when the original report was posted but it seems to have been true for over a year, and is still a problem in the latest SVN build.
DX9 and DX11, hardware and software modes are affected. The game is perfectly playable with zerogs although the background graphics have problems, and also playable but with more problems with ZZ OGL.

This one is minimal, alpha or deep problems in the menu, the selected option is not visible, unlike the z-buffer issues this happens on software as well. This doesn't happen with ZeroGS, though it has different issues.
