GT4 fullspeed?
#1
So...i am running GT4 at around 35-40fps, thats about 70-80% of the gamespeed i guess...so is there any way to make it go faster.
I tried all speedhacks and i set 640x400 but it still runs like this....
Anyway my PC,
Celeron Dual Core 3.5GHz
HD4550 512mb VRAM
2 gigs of ram
Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
CPU:Intel Celeron [email protected]
GPU:VTX3D HD5670 512MB DDR5
RAM:2GB DDR2 kingston

I think your main bottleneck is your cpu Smile Even if it's a dual core and above 3 ghz, it still has lesser instructions then a full blown Pentium Smile

Damn....but i think my GPU is the problem it is 64 bit....i guess i will have to buy HD5570/9600gt for new year Tongue

Out of curiosity, can anyone run this game at full 60fps all the time?

No point upgrading your GPU, your CPU and limited RAM will bottleneck a faster GPU. Spend your money on a better CPU and RAM and your GPU will breathe easier.

I get continuous 60fps on most tracks with around 10fps slowdown in some areas of the night tracks.

2.93ghz i7, ATI 5870, 12gig RAM (not that it uses a lot of RAM).

Wait, can you tell me which Core i7 you have?

I have the a Core i7 950 OC'ed to 4.0Ghz. If you're getting 60fps on most tracks with only 2.93 stock clock rates that is very encouraging! I can't wait to try it on my Core i7 950 OC'ed to 4.0Ghz. I also have a 5870 as well, so that's cool.

I7 @ 4.0Ghz will run the game nicely if it's paired with a decent vga card.
Due to how GSdx manages textures you'll want a vga card with 1GB ram though.

Yeah I'm rockin an ATI 5870 1Gb so I'm good there.

Rama you guys are doing a great job. Do you anticipate being able to optimize PCSX2 further in regards to Gran Turismo 4, so that higher framerates won't require such a fast CPU clock rate?

Not really, no. The game simply has a lot of work to do (even on a real PS2).

It's possible however that future optimizations we may find and implement could help Smile
