GTA VCS slowdowns
#1
Hi

I've been playing vcs and sometimes it slowdowns eg when I go out from barracks. When it slowdowns my EE is 60%, GS is 98-100%. I've set allow 8bit textures and native resolution. I've used official 0.9.8 and 5326 build (despite pcsx2 folder name is 5336).
Please help.

WinXP SP3
FX4100
4 GB RAM
ASUS HD 6850

tried ticking native res ? Because it looks like your GPU is struggling, here.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

What's wrong with my gpu? Pcsx2 can't utilize it? I thought 6850 is strong enough, because 8800gt is recomended. Any suggestions?

Sometimes the option "Allow 8-bit textures" would backfire, try disabling it...

Without it fps drops to 24

you could try software mode (F9) but I doubt your CPU will be up to the task...

In software mode GS is all the time 97-100% even when watching at the sea and game is running very slow. EE is 64% so it have some space.

Game runs best in pcsx2 0.9.8 in hardware mode with native res and allow 8bit textures set. In svn's with same options game is running worse so something has changed. Ticking mtvu doesn't help (because it affects cpu obviously). When I'm leaving barracks towards east (left behind gate) EE is 60-74% and GS 98-100%. Gpu-z shows that my gpu is 31% loaded so maybe it's something with pcsx2?

Could someone with fx cpu test vcs?

Skipdraw might help.

Where is that option?
nvm I was using 0.9.8 build...
Setting skipdraw to 1, 2 or 3 causes game to run even worse (constant 48 or lower fps)

I'm wondering why my gpu is so heavily loaded?
