GTA Vice City Stories Lag
#1
My PC Specs are
Intel Q6600 3ghz
4Gb ram
Geforce 9500GT
Windows XP
I'm using GSDX 0.1.12
In 50% of the map the game runs smoothly but in some places like when i'm looking at the other side of the island the game lags terribly it just slows down to 5-10 fps...and i saw videos in youtube where people can run this game at full speed with no lag..is it because of my crappy GF9500GT or am i doing something wrong?

Well the 9500gt is the 8500gt with Dx10 support, not a great card, but some games dont run all that well. So its probably the cause.

But theres another reason.
i got a 4870 (OC'd to 775Mhz GPU and 4000 MHZ ram) and still get an fps drop, its just the way it is, some bits work 100% some bits dont. If it runs slow try using frame skipping, it can help the fps but some things might look funny.

Videos in youtube are 99% of the time sped up to full speed so you don't see the lag.So seeing a game run 'full speed' on a video does not mean it is possible

actually the geforce 9500GT is the same as geforce 8600GT even a little bit faster

I've had the same thing happen. I wonder if it really does have so much to do with video cards though, I have a Geforce 8600MGT and it lags aswell. What is interesting though, especially noticable in the little cinematics... when your character is on screen it lags, but when it goes to something else or another person in the game that is talking it seems to speed up to normal.

X3 hack makes this lag
