GTA Vice City black screen after opening credits
#1
Okay, so I have slowly been figuring out how to use PCSX2 and have now played many games on it with no problems.

I have recently decided to play Vice City but cannot get it to start the loading screen.

I am currently using version 1.4.0 but even tried using version 0.9.8 (since the only help I could find was referencing to that version) but cannot get it to load. I have used 2 different ISOs as well as putting the actual game disc into my computer. It always starts but once the game credits end, the loading screen never starts. I attempted to use a save state uploaded but still got the same problem.

I imagine there has got to be a fix to this! any help would be great!

Give as much info as possible, I am still very new to emulators and whatnot.

I am running on Windows 10 i7 (3.40 ghz) 64 bit system

I would really love to play this game! Help!

You know there is a pc version that works flawless and looks better? You can get it for like $2.

Well, providing the content of the "emulog.txt" file after the problem occurs might also be useful.

Note: The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

I am using the default settings but have tried turning clamping off (after reading someone suggest it) and it did nothing. Again, I am new to using this so have no clue what most of the settings even mean.

Just took a screenshot of the settings

I'll copy the log. Its pretty much gibberish to me but hopefully it helps figure out whats going wrong. Sad

Try making an iso off your DVD and launch it

and put those speedhack sliders back to normal (left one in the middle, right one to the far left) and put the clamping for EE and VU back to "normal"

The note on the speedhack slider even says "THIS SETTING MAY MAKE GAMES TO FAIL TO BOOT", so don't risk it until you know it's safe for sure Wink
