uh yeah but software render is horrible it makes the game look bad
well , after borrowing my friend's mana khemia 2 game disc , i tried it right away , result : it's NATIVE res that causes this in-battle-lines-on-characters glitch , in this case upscaling will fix the problem but remain worse graphic quality and minnor graphic bugs well in this case upscale is the ultimate choice for mana khemia 2 , but for atelier iris 3 : horizontal lines at characters's portrait however upscaling wont cause this bug in mana khemia 2 , that's good....

I haven't seen that before...something is wrong there By default on 0.9.8 ticking "Native" would also disable texture filtering, it's supposed to be the most compatible mode anyway and makes sense to disable it. Someone enabled the option again after r4600 that's why you don't see that now (or some couple thousand revisions before ).

Texture filtering should always and only be in half ticked state.
That means it'll only filter textures when the bilinear filter bit is set for them. The other 2 states are there to break emulation. Don't know why Gabest added them
i mostly turn off textures filtering for games using sprites , 2D games
can you guys tell me what caused these square-things ? i wanna correct the effect of this

Check the "GSdx > Hacks subsection" part of the configuration guide so you can see how to activate the Hacks panel:
