You're doing it wrong! You're supposed to mount the whole disc, and not a single file on the disc! Change the mount device in the configuration of the CDVD plugin.

I open pcsx2, click run>execute, select the file from the disc (I think this is the part I am doing wrong) it is an IMG file but the same thing happens if I run the slus or CNF system file. When you start up a ps2 without a disc inserted it goes to the browser/system configuration page, that is what is happening here. I must b doing something wrong srry.

You are right you're doing it wrong, use gigahertz or P.E.Op.S cdvd plugin, or make a image of the disc with an app like ImgBurn or Alcohol 120% to use Linuz ISO plugin
