Game crash in PCSX2

My specs:

Intel i7 8700
GTX 1060 3gb
G.skill Trident Z 16gb
Windows 10 pro 64 bit

PCSX2 version: 1.4.0

I am using HW hack (half pixel offset) so I can run God of War 2 at 3x Native without ghosting. I played the first one without any issues, the second one hangs during a scene at the end of the level 'Ascension of Atlas' where there is a cutscene about the war between Zeus and the Titans. As soon as Zeus stabs his sword in the ground, he is engulfed in thunder and the image and the sound freezes there. I load the game from the iso, I tried turning off the HW hack, running it at native and some other unrelated suggestions I found on other threads regarding freezes in God of War, but those threads are very old and not very helpful. Any help would be much appreciated!

use imgburn to do so.

If that still doesn't work try pcsx2 1.5 
https://pcsx2.net/download/development/dev-windows.html although you should still update regardless way more fixes in 1.5 etc.
