Friend's PC
Intel Pentium D 2.8GHz
1 GB DDR2
Nvidia 7300LE 256MB
I don't expect there to be any game that would run well on this PC, but it's worth a shot.

mmmm, the only ones that MAYBE will work are the basic 2D ones, like disgaea, because your hardware is really old. maybe changing the processor
My Laptop:
CPU: intel T4200 @ 2.0 ghz
GPU: Intel GMA X4500M
Ram: 3 Gb DDR2
SO: WinVista Home Premium // Windows 7 Ultimate x32

Most 2d games will work fine, need to use native resolution in GSdx (or maybe even software rendering) and use speedhacks to run some 3d games but then games like disgaea, kingdom hearts, odin sphere, maybe final fantasy x being slow but should work fine enough, there's a list of some other games but not sure how they'd work in that computer

I know I'm being lazy here, but can you recommend some good fighting games (like Soul Caliber) from those?
EDIT: Just noticed Marvel vs Capcom 2 in that thread. Does it support an additional gamepad being connected for two player fun?

Yes, snk vs capcom 2 might work great as well, capcom fighting jam, some 2d king of fighters... dont know many 2d fighting games really xD
3d fighting games are of the most demanding ones really so cant help you there tho...
Basically try your 2D games and see if they run well enough because higher than that you might not get good results.

Is there any 3D fighting game that my computer might have a chance with?
Also, what are the minimum specs you think are required to play most PS2 games smoothly?

The recommended specs for PCSX2 are a Intel core 2 duo 3.2GHz and nvidia 8600gt card, but even this cant play some games fast enough, if you want to play most games smoothly you'll need the most your budget can buy
