Software mode uses entirely your cpu so the gpu will not help and also OGL works better on nvidia cards which you have

About my laptop...I get it almost 3 years ago and right now it will be at lower price and there are better choices with higher stp

OP.. you can use teh prt sc or printscreen button to take a screen capture of your desktop and you wont have all those lines in your images.. making them easier to read.
