Getting Playground to run on Windows 7
#1
anyways I built a new machine, was too cheap to buy an copy of xp pro off ebay and just installed a copy of windows 7 beta on it since it'll last till august.

Im having issues with the DirectX engine as windows 7 has install DirectX 11 and playground

I changed the GSdx settings to DirectX10 hoping it would work but I get an error saying

"Please update DirectX!", saying no brings up "Error opening GS Plugin"

I think I read somewhere to do something with the registry, but Im not sure what I am looking for and I don't want to alter something that I shouldn't

Computer Specs
HD 4850 CF
Q6600 @ 3.00 GHz

EDIT:Running Playground 1.0.0395

Not only does PG work just fine in windows 7. But i can confirm it is a speed boost, no doubt about it. Going from xp to windows 7 is seeing 10-15 fps gains in some games

pcsx2 is highly-not ready for Win7
in addition GSdx can stay up to DX9 for XP,DX10 for vista.
best to rollback to WinXP for the momment.

Hi all that's my first post in the forum Smile

Welll..i'm using Windows 7 (7000)32bit with Pcsx2 playground and i see a huge speed up from Windows Vista 32bit.
I gained about 20 Fps from vista Biggrin
In the Bios Page for exmaple now i got 75 fps +-....in windows vista i got nearly 50....Happy

i use Gdsx plugin in dx 10 resolution 1248 x 1024, using in dx 9 mode with pixel shader 3.0 i gain about 8 fps Wink

My specs are:
Pentium D 3.20ghz (giving some porblems...Sad)
Nvidia 9600 gt 1gb
4Gb Ram

Btw: Windows 7 have Dx 11 aswell as Dx 10 and Dx9( dx was a bit outdated , that's true...)...and a new system called "dx 10_level 9"
which allows Dx9 hardware to run in Dx 10 mode....(with a perfomance hit of course)Closedeyes

i played a few hours of god of war and shadow of the colossus in windows7. not one problem and runs better (=more fps) during the graphical intense parts because of dx10. my other os is xp 32bit.
