Good way to check PS2 games version's?
#1
Some games were rereleased as platinum (easy to check) and other releases (hard to find) and some games in later releases have updated/fixed stuff, so I want to check every game I want in terms of releases to make sure I have latest/best version's since PS2 do not update games (sometimes it means fixed version, so having latest means best).
I found gamefaqs.com but they had few unmentioned version's I know.
Any ideas?.
Thanks in advance for answer.

Pop the disc into your PC then check the contents inside the SYSTEM.CNF.
Look at the lines that says "VER = x.xx"

No, actually there are some games on PS2 (and PS1 as well) that received bugfixes on the later prints of the game (or in form of "Greatest Hits"/"Platinum"). For examples: GTA Vice City and San Andreas.

the difference is pre-ps3 they were entire discs you had to buy again, PS3+ patched in system, on the fly

Tried redump? Usually, they have some info of certain version of games being dumped there.

There is https://psxdatacenter.com but they don't list the version numbers. From my experience the version number isn't going to affect alot of games in a major way compared to RPCS3. There is also https://www.serialstation.com but also they don't list version number or the wiki itself https://wiki.pcsx2.net/Main_Page. Redump is de facto best to check it because it lists the metadata in combination with the other sites to optimise finding specific games and their respective versions.

Thank you kindly.
I think looking for version in version is impossible to achieve and even more to buy, so probably i will stick to latest release and versions in latest release must be abandoned.
I hope this sites will help to achieve that.
