Gran Turismo 4. Can't navigate pause menu

Hey guys. Have Gran Turismo 4 running fine on am m1 Mac but can't complete any license tests because the left analog stick and dpad stop working within the phase menu, so the only option I can choose is retry. I have found a few threads from throughout the years regarding this problem but none have offered a suitable solution. I have tried different ISO files but nothing works.

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.
