Grandia III immediately freezes my PCSX2
#1
So, I once tried to play Grandia III on pcsx2, but back then the game would run really slowly, and often completely crash. That was a long time ago, though, so i figured I's try again with the newest version of PCSX2, but now it freezes the moment i launch it. Any ideas? I'm running PCSX2 at the standard settings, since I'm a tech noob.

Hmmm, having played and beaten Grandia III, there shouldn't be any issues regarding what you just described. If you could, when PCSX2 crashes, go into your PCSX2 folder, find the logs folder, and post the contents of emuLog.txt here. Make sure you don't exit out of PCSX2 before you copy the emuLog.txt contents.

you should boot the game in ISO format not in zip format.

Don't zip your game, pcsx2 won't be able to read it.
You can still compress it using linuziso plugin if you want to

If it's gzipped it can read it(with avih's changes in the latest builds).

But I'm guessing it's not and that's the issue.

gzip uses the *.gz format. according to the log, it's not gzipped. (or) do you mean any other thing ?

Zip containers can contain gzipped files too(at least in 7zip you can set the compression method separate from the container), but those aren't compatible either.

Thanks for the input, I'll try using ISO, only problem is, that my cousin is currently borrowing my game, so i can't really rip it again, and when i unzip it I can't find the ISO file, so all in all the problem was probably with my game-fil to start with afterall xD
