Graphics plugin help
#1
Hello. So I've just installed the lastest version of the emulator (not beta) and have finished setting up everything to play my games. But when I attempt to use the Gsdx 890 SSE41 or SSSE3, it doesnt work. I am sure my system can handle it but I just want to make sure if I am doing it right or my system cant handle it and I'm a noob.

Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001)
Processor: AMD Phenom 9650 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.3 GHz
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS
DirectX 10

All the plugins are the standard that come with the basic download.

AMD doesn't support SSE4.1, you are stuck with SSE2.

Ok. Well, is there any plugin better then SSE2 that would work with my system?

The speed differences between the 3 are supposed to be minimal, anyway. I wouldn't worry much about it.

Are you having trouble with the SSE2 one or something?

From what a heard they are not minimal, SSE4.1 just very few games get improved fps only those that use strange stuff that are available on ps2 that most games don't use, between SSSE3 and SSE2 i think that all games should have a small improvement something like +5fps but i am not really sure, would have to test it.
The gap between SSE2 and SSSE3 is probably bigger because C2D are better clock for clock than athlon X2, i don't know about Phenom II.

I wish the difference was like that, maybe some games would do that but at least on my machine I rarely ever see a difference between SSE2 and SSSE3 plugin Tongue
