Guitar Hero Aerosmith crashes
#11
Okay 2 things.

First go in to the SPU2-X config and configure the output module, bring the latency slider down as far as possible, that should help with the audio lag.

Then go in to the GSDX config and set "Extra render threads" to 3, that should make software mode usable.

Also, a new problem seems to have cropped up. When ever I go to adjust the lag, going from playing a song, pausing, going to the lag menu, changing the setting and exiting, it always freezes at the loading screen (without crashing). (before and after changing the speed hacks I said above) And the log always seems to say something different.

First it's huge string of :
(EE pc:0030FD98) TLB Miss, addr=0x0 [store]
with this at the bottom:
EE: Unrecognized COP0 op 42c80000
EE: Unrecognized COP0 op 42c80000
EE: Unrecognized op e84f4505
EE: Unrecognized op 1

Then it was just:
EE: Unrecognized COP0 op 42c80000
EE: Unrecognized COP0 op 42c80000
EE: Unrecognized op e84f4505
EE: Unrecognized op 11985c
EE: Unrecognized op 1

Then the 3rd time was:
Trap exception at 0x0042488c

And the 4th time it didn't say anything.

Alright so after writing ^that^ I went to try software mode just because, no difference, still freezes, and too slow to play. So sticking to hardware mode. Also tried disabling all speed hacks, no difference.

Also, sorry, this must being getting really annoying Unsure

It's not annoying haha.

Are you using savestates?

Also try reripping your ISO with Imgburn.

Alright, so, interesting find. So I went to the SPU settings and decided to change the output settings module from XAudio 2 to DirectSound (just because I guess(I've switched back to XA2)), and the latency down till there was no crackling.
Then I tried it again, and it didn't freeze. But then then I remembered I didn't turn progressive scan on. So I quit the song, went back and turned it on, and, surely enough, it froze, in the same way I explained before. So I guess I'll be leaving progressive scan off Glare That seems to have fixed the freezing.

And turning the latency down didn't seem to help the lag, still needs to be set in the same range. But again, not really an issue since the lag calibration menu in game can fix it just fine.

Also, I can't seem to find anything that really explains the "Catmull-Rom" on the Interpolation menu, is it recommended? Or better to stick to Linear?

Other than that, no major issues Smile (yet, lol)
