Gundam Zeonic Front formation commands

After searching this forum i was able to fix my graphics issues, thank you all.

But one control issue remains with this game.  When controlling multiple gundams you should be able to press R2 and one of the 4 symbol buttons to issue formation commands.  This is not working.  

Pressing L2 and other buttons does work, so I know commands requiring pressing more than one button do work.  I have tried this using an 8bit duo controller, and a PS4 controller with software to make it work as an xbox controller.

My PSX2 version was 1.4.0, i upgraded to a nightly 1.5.0 version to see if that would help, it did not.

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

A screenshot of the lilypad window would be better (pad 1 tab and general tab)

Ok, this support request can be closed.  My brother and I found the problem, and it has nothing to do with the emulation.  Turns out the formation commands can only be used when you have an enemy sited in your target-er.  We didn't know that and thought it was a system problem.
