Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets [SLES 51192] (E)
#21
Is the game working already? I can't get to the menus, but the intro works just fine and then it crashes, semi-black screen.

If i post wrong or anything, please let me know, i'm new here

as the last status says, the game is only menus.

If you could refrain from asking questions in this section that would be great. As I said in my last post before yours, this section is for test results only

1)Game title: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
2)ELF name: SLES_511.92;1
3)Game CRC: 0xC5473413

4)Compatibility report:
PC Specs:
CPU: Intel i5 4460
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti

Build Description:
1.5.0-dev-2194 (7th September 2017 build)
BIOS Used: Europe v2.00

EE/VU Clamp modes: Normal/Normal
EE/VU Rounding: Chop/Chop

I used the EE Recompiler and the microVU Recompiler during testing

Speedhacks Used:
EE Cycle Rate: 0
VU Cycle Steal: 0
INTC, Wait Loop, mVU, MTVU were on during testing

Gamefixes Used:
Automatic gamefixes

Amount of testing done (little/medium/much/completed game):
Completed game

Comments:
  • The slider speedhacks are safe to use but shouldn't be needed,
  • The game doesn't like high resolutions. 4x native is the max my card can handle before I get FPS drops. If you do wish to use higher resolutions, enable 'Large Framebuffer' in the GSDx settings,
  • The game doesn't like custom resolutions. Using one will leave a black bar on the side of the screen even with 'Large Framebuffer' enabled,
  • Please remember to enable the 'Framebuffer Conversion' hardware hack, as without it there are artefacts at the right hand side of the screen. You'll need the latest dev build for this hack. Due to this hack, if you ever changed your CRC Hack level to 'Partial', please change it back to 'Full',
  • Please enable fast (basic) mipmapping else the game will run very badly. You'll need the latest dev build for this hack too.
Bugs:
None

Status:
Fully Playable
Patch tested on PAL, but NTSC-U reported to work with it too.

The game works fine without speedhacks on, but you can have them on if your system struggles to hit max FPS.
Please remember to enable the Partial CRC hack, without it there are artefacts at the right hand side of the screen.
Fast mipmapping is recommended as it makes the game run better.

Bugs:
None after the patch.

Game runs great, but for some reason the artifacts are still there even with Partial CRC hack. Do you know what might be the reason? Im using the same settings you are, except the build, im using this one: PCSX2 1.5.0-20170917165336 - compiled on Sep 20 2017
i7 8700K@5000MHz
GTX 1080 SC ACX 3.0
Maximus Hero X

To clear things up:
To get the game running without the artifacts on the right side of the screen you need to set the renderer to DX11 HW (no, OpenGL doesn't work yet) and have Large Framebuffer on to fix the black/blue bar at the bottom of the screen.

CRC hack level has no effect on the game (and is expected since there is no CRC hack for it anyway...). Do note that the rendering is not perfect, brightness is definitively wrong and that is on the whole 10 mins I tested it Tongue You can see how it's supposed to be if you press F9 and check how the software renderer shows the game.

Comments:
Aragog: It lags.
· Intro-Video of it: 30 to 40 FPS
· Spider-Zone when Aragog was in Screen: 40 FPS
· Fight: ~35FPS
· Video post-fight: 35-50 FPS, the closer [the camera is] to Aragog the worse

Basilisk has a bit of lag in the dying video

2x resolution should work flawless too, tested native though
