If this isn't the right information please lemme know:
Processor: Genuine Intel® CPU T2400 @ 1.83 GHz (2 CPUS)
Memory: 1022 MB RAM
Direct X Version: DirectX 9.0c
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300
I downloaded Drakan: The Ancients' Gates and it works, just really slowly (about 10-20 fps).
I'm not sure what to expect and was hoping I could get some advice. Thank you to anyone who helps.

Okay your T2400 processor is based on Pentium 4 Architecture that is really slow, and cannot run smoothly PCSX2... You need Core 2 Duo family processor faster than 2.4GHz to use this program somehow...
Your 7300 G0 is a bit slower than 7300 SE (which is slowest desktop model of this 73xx family). You cannot get even 500 points from 3DMark06 with that setup. While like I can get with my current system I can get over 14000 points and I still have problems with FPS being around 30-60 games that are not supported at all. Games that are supported I can run them pretty well actually already.
P4 Dual core @ 3.2GHz is slower than C2D Dual core @ 2.4GHz so hopefully this opens a bit your eyes too. 7300 G0 doesn't have so many shader units like its big brother 7300 SE and this makes your laptop again run a bit slower in games.
Here are my system specs for PCSX2 and still not running all games smoothly:
Q6600 @ 3.51GHz
Asus P5E
4x2GB Pqi 800MHz CL5 DDR2 @ 780MHz CL4
8800 GT @ 700/1000
1.75TB storage
Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit
Conclusion: If you want to play PS2 games do these:
a) Buy PS2 console (about 100-150€ new one unused)
b) Buy 1000€ desktop PC and over clock its CPU around 3.5-4.0GHz and play games that still are lagging
c) Save your money for future
