Hello all!

Hello ppl.

Thank you and congratulations for such an awesome emulator!
You Devs. are doing a spectacular job!

I'm really glad the PCSX2 and Playground teams merged together,
it should be and example for many other emulator development teams out there!

Anyways, I have a quick question;

On the compatibility menu, I see that ICO has an Ingame status.
For some reason I cannot make my copy work at all (NTSC).
I have tried both with the DVD and making an ISO file on my Hard Drive.

I just get a black screen.

I also tried using both video plugins with no success.

Any advise?

Have you read what "Ingame" means?
Quote:You can get through menus, intro cutscenes / videos, and see ingame graphics, but either due to graphical bugs, crashes, un-resolved errors, you can't play through the entire game.

ICO should be playable by now (maybe one or 2 game stopping bugs, nothing that can't be fixed).
What you need to do is run the game using run>execute, so the bios is shown first.

That's just the thing.
I can't even get Ingame status. The game crashes before It can start.
If I use the File>Run CD/DVD command, I just get stuck with a black screen. If I use run>execute, the emulator crashes right after the playstation logo.

All speed hacks and game patches/fixes are off.

Any ideas?

Which graphics plugin and operating system are you using?

Ok. I got it running with ZeroGS graphics plugin.
Now the problem is that the graphics look really blurry and there are horrible gray shadows everywhere.

It this normal at this state of emulation?
Can anyone make the game work with the GSDX plugin?

Can you try using Run > Execute with ZeroGS and then configure the bios. This may get gsdx working with Run >Execute

or you could do it in software mode for gsdx. Smile

Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 OC to 3.6GHz, Intel GMA x4500, 1GB DDR2

I'm not getting any crashes with GSdx and run>execute..
Anyway, since you can start the game with ZeroGS, try doing a savestate, switch over to GSdx and load that state.
Maybe that works (although GSdx hates loading ZeroGS's states Tongue2 ).
