Help!

well i have been playing digital devil saga 2 for awhile now. and it really starts to piss me of when the fps drops is every battle to about 40-50 and once there are many people in the screen at once the fps is about 40-45,
But all the cutscenes works really nice and when iam exploring the dungeons there is no problem with the fps.
So i was wondering could someone tell the best plugins to run DDS2.

My Specs.
Windows XP - 32 Bit
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 @ 2,90
2GB Buffalo 800mhz
Winfast 8600 gts

iam using the Pcsx2 - 0.9.6 version and the plugins that was with it..
and i havent any speed hacks on..

Well step one would be turning some speedhacks on. 2x Cycle Rate for sure, and experiment with INTC Sync Hack and the others. Secondly, if there's any time when a game would lag over any other, it's WHEN there are a lot of people on the screen, so that doesn't seem out of the ordinary. Speed hacks may help you out and put you at max FPS in battles, maybe not. If you don't mind me asking, what Graphics plugin are you using? And are you loading from an .iso, or from a disk?

well im using the GSdx 890 (SSE3) 0.1.14
and its a iso file that im using.

And i was reading somewhere at the forums that pcsx2 is a processor based program. But i was wondering that pcsx2 is only using about 20% of my cpu.. wouldnt there be better fps if it used about 50-60% of the cpu?

PCSX2 is a very processor based program. You can try overclocking it a little bit more, and like i said enable speed hacks. SSSE3 would help out your cause quite a bit, it's quite the performance boost. But that would require a new CPU of course. :/

your GPU bottlenecks you here.

In fact, pcsx2 works a lot with you processor most of the time.
Else, it relies on gpu. That's why sometimes you see your CPU is loaded at 20% and get slow fps : your GPU works at this time and isn't werful enough to handle it at fullspeed.

It wont require a new cpu, the E6550 supports SSSE3 and so you should use that plugin.

The 20% that you see at the top of the window is only the amount of the cpu in which the graphics plugin is using(gsdx), the rest of the cpu is being used.

I don't think the E6550 supports SSSE3. MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, EM64T.

look for the E6550. It supports SSSE3.
