[Help] Champions of Norrath lag
#1
Hi!

I need some help with getting champions of norrath to be lag free. Currently, whenever I walk near fire or forests with lots of trees, the FPS drops down to 30-45 and it's very noticeable. I'm trying to get my girlfriend into gaming with me and she used to love Gauntlet Legends so I told her about this game. So far she loves it but she hates the lag.

laptop specs

GTX 870m
windows 10
i7 of some sort
32gb ram

Using preset 2 but I also tried it with speedhacks but I honestly don't know what many of these settings even do.

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

Please make sure to enclose your emulog in code tags like so (remove the empty space on the closing code tag!):

I launched the emulator, loaded my save state where the fire and lag is and ran around for a few seconds and then closed it.

For Snowblind games use 8bit textures and the Fast Invalidation hack also keep the camera zoomed all the way in for some reason zooming out drops the FPS a lot more. Even then you are likely to still see FPS drops. Use OpenGL Hardware on newer git builds as well
