Help! My Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria freeze.

The game freeze when the fight end.
I don't know what can i do and i still can't figure it out whats wrong with my
PCsx2 1.2.1.

Please help me figure it out.

Yeah, i see no problem with the save state until i enable widescreen patches/Host filesystem everything go worse.

It've been disable both but the problem still there and game freeze.

Did widescreeen patches can cause the problem to this game?

WS Patches could be the issue yes.

I forgot if this was already in there, but either way. Create a pnach file in the /cheats folder, and add this code:

Hi I have a similar problem.
I've disabled the cheats, widescreen patch and host. Everything ran fine until the end of Yggdrasil. After you get Rufus's Ring back, the game will randomly freeze in combat.
So I have multiple saves. The one before getting the ring is fine, no freeze whatsoever. And another after getting the ring, with random freezes.

I have no idea what to do. I did create a .pnach with the cheats provided and activated it in pcsx2 (the console says that 21 cheats have been loaded) but it doesn't fix it.

Some other guy had this problem on a modded PS2 but managed to get past this by "Disabling In-game Reset (Mode 6)" but I have no idea if it's possible to do something similar on pcsx2 : http://psx-scene.com/forums/f13/valkyrie...ndex2.html

If anyone could help I'd be really grateful.

Valkyrie Profile 2 has a weird anti-cheat system (Gameguard) that will break your savegame irremediably if you have any cheats on (that includes pnach hacks, codebreaker, gameshark, and even OPL's Mode 6). Once you reach Hall of Valhalla the game will freeze in any fight, making it impossible to progress.

If you don't want to encounter that problem you need to start the game from the beginning with no cheats whatsoever and keep it like that, because the moment you try a cheat, your savegame will be ruined in Hall of Valhalla.
Also, you could use a clean savegame from Valhalla. I may have one on my PS2 so if anyone is interested, I can look if I still have it (it's from the NTSC-U version of the game).
There is also the method Ryudo posted above if you want cheats, but you need to have a clean savegame to use it. It will prevent Gameguard from activating, but if your savegame is corrupted by it, there is nothing you can do. So clean savegame -> Gameguard patch -> widescreen patch/cheats/whatever.

Anyway, why do you guys need a widescreen patch for this game? The game already has widescreen and even 480p progressive scan.

I did start over after disabling the cheats, widescreen patch and the host. The only thing I left are the automatic gamefixes.

Did I have to first delete my previous save and then start a new game?

Yes, you have to delete all Valkyrie Profile 2 saves from the memory card, otherwise the new ones will be corrupted too.
