He did. SSE4.1 should give better/equal performance to the SSSE3 plugin.

The three S's are a product of a bad marketing decision (Intel's?) Calling it SSE3.(some number) would have been more appropriate.

Ill make a simple list Tongue

SSE4 plugin = Core 2 Duo E7### series or higher (including i7)
SSSE3 plugin = Any Core 2 Duo
SSE2 plugin = everything else, including every AMD chip made from the Athlon 64 onwards

I didn't mention the difference between SSE and SSSE because it doesn't matter. The numbers increase because they are newer instruictions sets, so it's only natural that each new instruction set is an improvement on the last. I know that's not always true, but in this case it is.
