Help for config.
#1
Hi guys,

I'm here because I downloaded PCSX2 but I think that my config is not suffisant or I misconfigured the soft.

Here's my specs :

- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - @2,40Ghz
- ATI Radeon HD 4870
- 6Go of DDR2 memory.
- Motherboard MSI P35 Neo.

Here's my config of PCSX2 :

Video Plug-in => http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2014...plugin.png
Audio Plug-in => http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2014...plugin.png
SpeedHacks => http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2014...dhacks.png

The main problem when I launch a game (ex. Splinter Cell 1) is that the game loads properly and when I'm in the game,
it looks like it's running at 0.5x speed... I've tried a lot of things... Without success...

An other main problem is when I want to put night vision or thermal vision (In SC) it's.... well.. disgusting !
Here's a screen : http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2014...vision.png
It looks like an Instagram filter ^^ I solved this problem by putting "DirectX10 Software" mode
but after that, it's incredibly lagging.... => 15-20FPS not more...

I don't know where it comes from, I'm running the game on the original DVD.
If someone can help me to have smooth game, I'll be really happy Smile
I'm not interested in HD graphics, PS2 graphics are fine for me I just want the game to run smoothly like a real PS2 Smile

Thanks, and just a little thing, I'm French so I'm sorry if I do some errors Wink

well you can speed it up by using software mode +3 extra rendering threads on the cpu. if you want better performance you can overclock your cpu to 3.0ghz.

Well, I tried that setting but I've got 5-10FPS only :/ And.. I don't know how to overclock my CPU

do you mean you get only 5-10 fps higher than before, and to overclock your cpu you should go to bios by pressing delete on system start and choosing overclocking mode on cpu configuration and don't cross over 20%.

I mean I'm really running at 5-10FPS. The cinematics, the loading screens are great => 50FPS without audio glitches, it works great.
But when the game starts (I mean when I can move the character) the FPS collapse to 5 to 10-20 max... If you want I can capture a video ?

I'm gonna restart my computer for see for the overclock Smile

overclocking will give a small speed up but, not by that much and did you try using the latest instruction set supported by your cpu. since it's core 2 quad i think it supports sse4.1 try using that and using speed hacks to give little boost in performance.

2.4 and not using the full CPU speed..

Set to high performance mode, and see what it fully clocks to

"2.4 and not using the full CPU speed.." I don't understand ^^ What are you meaning ?

I'm already on high performance mode.

The Q6600 is 2.4GHz max at stock. (Unless you were referring to something else?)

That MSI motherboard has no 'Turbo' function, so he'll have to manually clock it.
But even then the CPU will probably only reach 3.0 GHz tops, and that's when being lucky :C
I honestly wouldn't risk going much further with that CPU.
