Help with first time config

I'm a noob (admittedly) looking to play Smackdown Here Comes the Pain, since it's impossible to buy anywhere else, and maybe Kingdom Hearts 2. Each time I try do configuration it says I have a Directx error, a gs error and once it even said my hardware or software wasn't supported. I updated my directx before installing pcsx2, so I'm not sure what the issue is. Could someone possibly tell me what to do at the first time configuration menu, or which plugins to use, so that I can play?

I'm just going to point this out before you get into it; That system is far too weak to handle PS2 emulation. You should stick to your original console until you get a better rig.

Yeah that is one ancient Laptop to be using with PCSX2
