Help with installing stable build on nightly

Hello I recently noticed that some games were not performing well with the current nightly and I wanted to update to stable release via the settings in the interface tab of nightly. I don't want to download it directly since I want the achievements to still be there however it shows this error-
Extracting updater failed: SzArEx_Open() failed: SZ_ERROR_NO_ARCHIVE [17]
Pls help me fix this and install stable build 1.6.0 on nightly build via updater and help of interface tab

i think you misunderstood.
currently, 1.6.0 is stable whereas 1.7.xxxx is nightly.
means you wouldn't perform an update, but a downgrade. that's why it doesn't work.

So, no other choice than downloading it and installing it if you really want to. (but i highly doubt it'll solve your problem)

FYI, nightly performs better than stable, and retroachievements aren't available on stable
