Help with recording gameplay
#1
I'm trying to record some dark cloud 2 game play, however, i keep running into an issue.
ill press f12, it will ask me where i want to save my video, how i want to encode it, and what i should call it.
anyway, ill select the bottom encoder (at random, i don't think it makes a difference)
and ill save it to my desktop.
ill record the game play i want to record, and then ill press f12 again
ill navigate to the desktop, the sound file will be there, but not the video file

okay, ive decided to use fraps instead, however, with fraps, i get slight stuttering on graphics, its not really affecting play, but it doesnt look good on the recording at all, what can i do to increase fps but maintain video quality? (im recording and playing at 720p)
i also occasionally get huge fps drops, my fps falls to around 45fps, this ruins both recording and gameplay, how do i fix this?

I'd bet on a folder rights problem.
try recording to c:\dc2.wav instead of your desktop

get a better PC.
your specs barely meet the recommened requirements to play this game @ 720p.
If you try to record your gameplay, you need a very good PC if you don't want framedrops, especially in 720p
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

He's got a GTX 650 so he might be able to get away with using Nvidia ShadowPlay. It supports desktop capture now, so it should work fine with PCSX2.

It's not video editor-friendly though due to its recordings having a variable framerate.

yeah, shadowplay will work fine. I would use MSI afterburner though.

Don't know if you tried that yet but to completely exit pcsx2s recording mode, you have to press F12 twice, not once.
You'll get a notice in the console that the recording was ended.
