Horrid fps
#1
Hey, I've just got PCSX2 working in order to play final fantasy XII, and much to my demise, the fps is horrid, even f9 is not that helpful, I constantly keep getting drops below 30 fps, maybe if i overclock just a tad or perhaps use an iso instead of a disc it will help to some extent. I'm kinda at a loss here as i thought my laptop would be more than enough to run smoothly.
I followed the guideline quite thoroughly.

Here are my specs:
Alienware m14x laptop
3rd Generation Intel Core i5-3230M dual core(3MB Cache, up to 3.2 GHz w/ Turbo Boost 2.0)
6GB (1 X 2GB, 1 X 4GB) DDR3 at 1600MHz ram
1 GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with Optimus
500GB 7,200 RPM SATA 3Gb/s

Any suggestions? And i know a laptop isn't recommended but i do believe this laptop is potent enough.

laptop power management needs to be set high performance mode to prevent throttling.
OS: Linux Mint 17.2 64 bit (occasional Antergos/Arch user)
(I am no longer a Windows user)
CPU: Intel Pentium G3258
GPU: Nvidia GTX 650 Ti

I forgot about that /: but even then, mostly during any cutscene, the fps drops close to 40 below.

What settings are you using? Can't help you much unless we know your settings.
