You don't need master codes in pcsx2 and creating a TXT file will not allow you to load any cheats.
You must save it with crc.pnach extension not crc.txt nor crc.pnach.txt
Also extended determines how long the code is,and if you just copy what you see in CE,when you want to modify only one address, you will always modify 4
Extended reads the first digit of the address to tell pcsx2 how many addresses to modify and you must set the correct value dependng on your value.
Value from 0 to 255(0-FF),the first digit of the address must be change to 0
Value from 255 to 65535(FF-FFFF),it must be set to 1
And value from 65535 to 4 million(FFFF-FFFFFFFF)or something to 2

Question:

What is the difference between word and extended?

Word(short and byte(I think))is the same thing as extended but it is using different method to tell the value size and it's the old method

With those 3 words you can just copy=>paste the address from CE to pnach but the difference here is that you have to use the correct "word" to tell the code size

Byte is for 0-FF
Short for FF-FFFF
Word for FFFF-FFFFFFFF
As you can see,it's the same thing, you must tell pcsx2 how many adresses to modify

Not to make your thread pointless but there are many threads here about this and everything is already explained.
