How can I make Persona 4 work smoothly on my computer?

Sad
I haven't properly played the gameplay yet because just the intro screen/theme is slow and lags. I would really appreciate help on how to get it working at a smooth, normal speed - I don't mind so much if the display quality is compromised. Smile

PC Specs:

OS: Windows 10
Manufacturer: Lenovo
Processor: AMD A6-5200 APU with Radeon™ HD Graphics 2.00 GHz (4 cores)
RAM: 4.00 GB
System Type: 64-bit

Version of PCSX2: 1.4.0

- Plugins (if these are relevant) -

GS: GSdx 20160105132032 (MSVC 19.00, AVX) 1.0.0

CDVD: cdvdGigaherz (20151231175709ll) 0.9.0

- GS Configurations -

Renderer: Direct3D11 (Hardware)

Interlacing (F5): None

Internal Resolution: Native

- SPU2-X Settings -

Interpolation: 0

Disable Effects Processing is checked

Module: 1 -XAudio 2 (Recommended)

Latency: 100 ms

Synchronizing Mode: TimeStretch (Recommended)

Audio Expansion Mode: Stereo (none, default)

EE and VU are both on 2 (I've seen recommendations to slide VU to 1, but I'm unsure how to give them both separate levels?), with Clamping Mode set to None. The only one of my Speedhacks unchecked is Enable fast CDVD. I have no manual game fixes enabled; the rest of my settings are Default, I think.

Thank you!

You could try Direct3D9 (Hardware). It might make it a little faster, but your processor is quite weak for PCSX2. For good performance in most games a single thread rate of 1600 is recommended, but your A6-5200 only has 780: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html

Oh okay that's understandable, thank you. I tried Direct3D9 and it helped ever so slightly, but I guess the processor is the issue.
I have a shared Windows Vista PC with an Intel Celeron CPU G540 2.50GHz processor, with I think a rate of 2235? Is it worth a shot on that device?

nope, its STR is 1280 : http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=...40+2.50GHz&id=684

but it'll be better than your current cpu, for sure.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

Alright, I'll give it a go!
