games being locked at 30 fps are have the fps double to run right at ntsc or something like that im sure one the dev's/programmers that under stand this better could explain it better. as i pretty sure one dev/programers said something simalar to quiet some time again, but then i could be wrong

It's the difference between fields and frames.

NTSC is 60 fields/30 frames(29.97 actually) per second.

Those fields are interlaced too, which further muddies the question "What is fps"

It's a whole big mess.

SO without speed hacks of any kind I will get the proper FPS readings?

It's still gonna say 60fps even in a 30 capped game. Why would we need the 60fps patches for KH games if it didn't work that way?

*politely bows out of this thread*

Hopefully a dev can explain this better than me.

Why would one want or need a 60FPS code for any game? If this works the same way as dolphin works with its games on reading GC games that are 30FPS then PCSX2 shouldn't be any different. No matter what the FPS cap is the game doesn't get slow and sluggish until you 11FPS below the cap. If you stay at 20-30FPS then it will feel fine and normal. 19 and less will be sluggish and slow. So having a 60FPS patch is kind of pointless to have IMO.

IT IS HOW IT PROGRAMED PLAN AND SIMPLE, I didnt make the ps2 or code it or create the architecture this way, and you cant compare one emulation project to another and you cant compare another console to another one, none of them are the same, none of them work the same, none are coded the same , none of then have same architecture.

This comparison is akin to say I have i7@ 3ghz and 6gb ram and 660gtx and thinking your get gona set same peformance on pc software as you would with emulation.

Just forget it. You obviously missed what I was saying here.

It's clear you aren't understanding what is going on. It's hard to explain as it is. I've done my best, others have done their best.

This thread has gone WAY off topic of what it originally was. So let's get back to that. If you wanna discuss this FPS thing, make another thread in hardware/software, please.

And btw, it was partly my fault that it went this far off topic, and I realize that. My bad.
