How do I configure my controls?

So since I've downloaded PCSX2 I've been trying to play a few games. But whenever I start the game I can't just do anything... I've been to Config>Controllers and changed my controls settings, but whenever I press OK, if I go to Config>Controllers, again, it is configured with the default settings... It doesn't seem to save any of the changes I've made, and, eventually, when I run the game it won't let me do anything because it has no buttons assigned to it This happens either when I try using my keyboard or my PS3 controller! Can anybody help me on this, please?

Which PCSX version are you using?

Make sure you have installed the program to a folder you have rights too. Like C:\Pcsx2.

The version is 0.9.6

I'll try to re-install it somewhere else and see if it works...

EDIT: So I've installed in a different place and now it works ^^ Thank you very much for the help!
