How do you get shadow hearts to work ?

I am using Playground beta 708 the latest, GDsx 1.1.4, I have no special fixes on. I tried about every setting and Shadow hearts when I run it I dont even get the start up screen anything.

Huh? What are your settings? It boots (and runs) fine here. Though it's best to use GSDX's software rendering for it.
Disable any speedhacks if you have them on.

Odd I tried all of those options still nothing.

running the DVD or an ISO?

Running as a DVD it could be the disk too, It looks pretty scratched up

If you rip the ISO, it should (as in WILL) run much better. Use Alcohol 120% or a similar program.
Also, while not meaning to hijack the thread, I have a SH related problem. It's the whole common black lines thing, but none of the solutions I've heard work. I've tried both DX10 and DX9 with and without native res, multiple GSDX plugins including 0.1.7, and many different versions of the emulator. Anything else I should try?

Try software mode.

I had the same problem just use Software mode in Shadow hearts the only real slowdown is when special effects happen.

The next release of GSDX speeds up the software mode for Shadows Hearts. So you may want to wait till you play this game.
