How does PCSX2 perform on Linux today?

Can I expect comparable performance on Linux to be comparable to on Windows 7/8/10?

Just debating whether I should install PCSX2 on my Linux HTPC/couch gaming rig or if I should install it on my Windows desktop and stream it to the HTPC through Steam.10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254

Less an issue with OS, more an issue with hardware and drivers. Should be comparable.
