How to enable External Shaders in 1.7.2246?

I honestly used the search function before asking this, so I'm sorry if it's in another thread already...

But how can one enable/use external shaders with the 1.7.2246 build? Is it possible, or is this restricted due to the constant changing of the unofficial/daily releases? I understand if it's not allowed (that way you're not troubleshooting 123456789 things on 987654321 builds), but figured I'd ask just in case.

They're not available in Vulkan, please use Direct3D or OpenGL
