My pc is specs:
Core 2 Quad Q9450
4GB of DDR2 1066Mhz
EVGA GTX 460 SE 1GB
old 320GB IDE hard drive

I don't remember what verison i was using or what plugins and settings i was using.

What would be the best verison, plugins and settings to use for my pc?

You need to get that clock speed up to 3GHz+ if you really want to play games at decent speed or just try the speedhacks.

It seems a little weak for PCSX2 to me, but you can always try speedhacks.

Actually if you measure the per-clock-speed then his CPU is faster than your Wink And your amd cpu is a major bottleneck for that 6990.

Are you saying that my AMD 6990 will run faster with a better CPU ?
In that case I wonder how it would do with an i7...
AMD Phenom II X4 975 BE OC 4.0 GHz, Corsair Hydro H70
AMD Radeon HD 6990 OC, Accelero Twin Turbo
ASUS Crosshair V Formula 990FX
OCZ Revodrive 3 X2 240 Gb
16 Gb G.Skill 1833 MHz

Yup. Amd CPUs are not fast enough to keep up with high-end or modern day GPUs. Also, if you have PCI Express 1.0 o 1.1 then you're also bottlenecking your GPU too.

I wonder how the new AMD FX-8350 X8 4.0GHz would do with PCSX2...?

if you go amd go for phenom II and nothing else, its stil the fastest processor of the amd line-up.

faildozer is just as the name implies...fail.

I will try to overclock it to at least 3ghz,but last time i tried to over clock this pc i could not even get 3.2ghz stable, becausei found out that the cpu was never fully supported by the mobo i have lol(not my fault,it was the guy i bought it from on craigslist fualt lol)and if that fails i will try the speed hacks.

I have for my main pc an FX-8150 at stock,8gb of ddr3 1600mhz,and a 7970,and i could run pcsx2 no problem if i remember right(it's been awhile since i tried it,)

Bulldozer is not really that bad,i have one and i love it,it may not be as fast as an intel cpu in games, but the amd platform is cheaper, like to get a intel mobo with the same stuff my amd mobo has(at the time i got mine)would cost $75-$100 more.

Intel is a little faster in gaming, but in really heavily threaded appllcations the 8150 does great.

The 8150 is not a bad cpu,it's just a niche market item, for example if you are going to game, edit video, photo edit, ect., it is a good cpu for you.

One reason i got it is cause i do video editing and on every pc i had before if i had a video rendering, and i were to try to play a game it would be unplayable, and with the 8150 i can play a game and render a video at the same time and have no fps drop.

No i am not an AMD fanboy,i just buy what fits my needs for the price i can afford to pay.

the more powerful the cpu and the graphics card the smoother the games will run, but expect lags from time to time when u experience areas with high graphic detail. that is common in demanding games
