How to get cheats to work on PCSX2 1.1.0.r5751 ?

I can't get cheats working on the svn version. on the stable it works great.
so I have copied the cheat file from stable version dir to the svn folder named "cheats" and also placed I copy in the "cheats_ws" folder and still didn't work.
