How to set up mouse to work in games?
#1
Hello, it's my first post and I'm sorry if I placed this topic in a wrong section.

Last version of Pcsx2 that I used was 1.6.0 and I managed to set up my mouse to work just fine by watching your guides on forums. Now I cannot do the same for this new updated stable version 2.0.2 or nightly version.

Reason I changed to the new stable is because I read that Fatal Frame 1,2,3 issues are fixed on latest Nightly version (assuming this stable follows the same rules) so it should be fixed here. But I didn't realize that these new versions have a completely overhauled interface.

Basically what I'm trying to do is make my mouse work as an analog stick (or how you call it) and it should let me move flashlight in the game while character is holding it (specifically for Fatal Frame games as it used to do). Could you please explain to me how do I set up settings for mouse now? When I set some settings, all my mouse does is get stuck in the game in the middle of the screen and it shakes. So I have to alt+f4 to shutdown game window before my mouse becomes responsive again. I attached screenshots below.

I did map initially mouse section with buttons but everytime I map "Pointer" with left mouse button or anything, it freezes in middle of the screen and stops there. Tried activating every source (raw input, xinput,etc.). I just can't get it done.

Anyone knows a solution? My keyboard is working fine and is configured in Controller Port 1.

I'm sure you seen the "enable mouse mapping" smack dab in the middle of global controller settings. Smile

Unfortunately that didn't fix the issue. I already have mentioned that I tried every single option turned on and regardless of what I do, games never register mouse nor the program itself.

When I map the mouse keybinds, everything is fine until I map the Axes Pointer. Then my mouse gets inside the game but it gets stuck in the middle of the screen and I can't move it nor close the application until I shut down the game with alt+f4.

I map pointer with left mouse button and I seriously have no idea what it should actually be set on. Do you have any configuration or tutorial on this? Older version worked perfectly fine but this new one just doesn't seem to do.

i don't think Fatal frames games are compatible with a ps2 mouse.
you should bind you mouse movements to right stick of ds2 instead
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

Then you map the mouse movements under controller's analog stick config. The hid mouse is mapping is NOT used for controller stuff. PS2 supports mouse-mouse in couple of games but not for analog controls.

Thank you so much for the help. I totally forgot I was supposed to map mouse movements to Right Analog stick. Yes fatal frame games don't support mouse, I simply wasn't phrasing good. I only wanted to make right analog stick work with my mouse as well so I can move flashlight or add extra functions with mouse which creates a nice experience.

Now everything works. I mapped it with pointer up, down, left, right. Also removed hid mouse in USB port 1 since it wasn't needed at all.

You can close the thread. Thanks pal you're the best!
