How well does the G3258 hold up to emulation when it isn't overclocking?

Just as the title says, how well does the Pentium G3258 hold up when it isn't Overclocked on PCSX2 and Dolphin?

It's ok, but it will be fairly weak in for software mode

That CPU is made to be overclocked. Don't buy an unlocked processor if you don't plan to overclock it. *stares at his sig*

That processor begs to be overclocked. Even when it's OC'ed like crazy it still maintains a super cool temperature since it's a dual-core.

It will do *okay* without an OC. But if you are buying it with sixth generation emulation in mind, you really need to OC it.

well, if you dont want to oc it then, you could probably get a locked multiplier version of the g3258.....

Out of those I only have dragon quest 8. I'll just test a bunch of my games to give you an idea.

No, I plan to, it's just that as of right now I'm unable to OC it at the moment.

I'll be getting the G3258 in next week (a friend of mine is going to NJ on Thursday and buying me the $100 CPU + Mobo bundle at Micro Center) so I'll let you know how it does with FFXII and Xenoblade Chronicles.

But wait, if you already have the CPU, why not try it out yourself? XD
