I'm a noob who needs help with an error

After installation, every time I attempt to launch the executable, I get an error that says "pcsx2-r5875.exe- Entry Point Not Found. The Procedure entry point_except1 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program File (x86)\PCSX21.2.1\pcsx2-r5875.exe." Even if the answer might be obvious, I have no idea what I'm doing, what this error means, or how to fix it. Any suggestions for getting rid of this error would be greatly appreciated. I'm running windows 8

p.s. - I've tried reinstalling, and I've scanned my registry for anything that might be missing.
