I'm having trouble recording gameplay (both Fraps / dxtory)
#1
Hi guys.

I'm having this wierd problem with PCSX2 lately.

I used to make gameplay videos with PCSX2 just fine (using FRAPS or Dxtory and I even tried the built in recorder but unfortunately it ended up being the most slow option). Years ago, I remember making FF12 videos in Full HD output and all and I have proof because I've got them uploaded in Youtube so I'm not crazy, I know it is possible, lol just kidding Tongue
But since I got this new PC (which is a KILLER gaming rig compared to my old one), the PCSX2 decided to reset itself to default native ps2 resolution whenever I press the key to start recording, then when I stop recording it goes back to fullHD. I'm running the game at 1280x720 (D3D Internal Resolution), no speedhacks or gamefixes, like I always ran my games back then. That's the resolution I'm aiming at to record my gameplays.

I've no clue why or what I'm doing wrong or different than before, but since I got this new PC, I basically switched the SO (I'm on Windows 8 now, coming from W7, both x64), and updated to the lastest PCSX2. I've tried previous versions but nothing seems to make it work like it used to. Do anyone have any clue of what may be happening ? Maybe it's just some obvious feature I'm forgeting to check/uncheck but ..

Not sure if this can be useful but here is my current rig and previous rig:

Current: Intel Core i7 3770K, Geforce 690 GTX, 32 GB Gaming RAM, 120 GB Corsair SSD + couple of HDDs for storage. Running Windows 8.0 x64
Previous: Intel Q9550, AMD Radeon 4770, 4 GB Gaming RAM, couple of Regular HDDs. Running Windows 7 x64.

And of course PCSX2 1.0.0 / GSdx 5334

because the recording key is F9, I guess.
remap it to another one which isn't a default shortcut key in pcsx2
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

ZOMG. I absolutely knew if I posted my hotkey here that it would turn out to be a used one and I'd look like a noob.

Okay then, give me an unused one to use.

BTW I hate FXAA.

Numpad keys. Why does no one ever think of them! Tongue

That's a good question. I use the numpad all the time for numbers and math, but as a hotkey area... didn't occur to me. Caps Lock is a good idea too.

whoa, I'm not the only one it seems =p

I remapped to ~ key (tilde, right above TAB) .. I hope it isn't key for anything else on PCSX2.
