I request netplay!
#11
I apologize for waking up a dead thread like this, but isn't kaillera a viable means for netplay?
Several of the emulators I use contain netplay, with kaillera being the means of connecting.
Even the GC emulator, Dolphin, is able to netplay with someone.

Desync levels are low with Kaillera P2P, moderate with server-side matches, incredulously high with Dolphin.
I've been able to play three 2-3 minute matches on melee without desyncing.
SSB64 server-side, about 20~ minutes without desyncs.
SSB64 P2P, about 90 minutes before a desync.

Is it possible to integrate kaillera into PCSX2 or would that be seemingly impossible?

I'm thinking that games that are easy to emulate would end up working well.
I'm getting 50-60fps in melee whilst my friend is getting 55-60fps.
I'm guessing that's where some of the information is getting lost.
A game like MVC2 (just an example), I can consistently run at 60fps with no drops at all.

tl;dr
PCSX2 + Kaillera:
Can it happen?

As has already been discussed in this thread, if you'd bothered to read it, the big problem in keeping two copies of PCSX2 in sync has nothing to do with latency over the network.

Two copies of PCSX2 running at identical framerates with identical plugin configurations and identical pad input are not guaranteed to have the same internal state. MTGS makes this issue even worse, but even without it, it's not guaranteed.
