ICO controller aren't responding at all
#11
I'd like to revive this thread a little because I have the exact same problem with the PAL version (controller doesn't respond, can't get past the language select screen) and changing the clamp options didn't help either.

I'm using PCSX2 0.9.8. with the default plugins and I'm pretty sure my controller is configured correctly as it works perfectly with all the other games I've played so far.

Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions. Smile

Hmm.. looks pretty normal. In fact, identical to mine (I also got the PAL version, and completed ICO twice with PCSX2).

You sure Lilypad is properly configured and working? Maybe try to rip the DVD again?

Also, I'm attaching an ICO memcard. Use it, and it should get you past the language and frequency selection screens.

Please update this thread.

Thank you very much! I don't really understand how a memcard can fix a problem like this, but the point is that ICO works like a charm now! Smile

I'll try to rip the DVD again, but I doubt that's the problem. I'm attaching my Lilypad settings, maybe you're right and I didn't configure it properly (it works fine with all my other games though).

I used the save file and it gets past the language screen! I can watch intro, and the game looks gorgeous in the higher res. But the controls still don't respond. They are using pretty much the same config as siklara, too. So here's my log, much thanks in advance, I'm so excited to replay this! Laugh

Austino5433, does the controller work with other games? Can you configure it to use Keyboard? (just configure the Start and X buttons to see if you can start a game)

Your problem must be that the controller analogues aren't correctly mapped to the digital keys (or vice versa).
Try using a different pad plugin or unticking the "Analog mode whenever possible" option in Lilypad.

It works with other games, and using the keyboard doesn't work either. It's weird, because it actually did work the first time I booted it up!

I think I'm going to try a different controller plugin, hopefully it'll work Laugh
