IM CONFUSED HELP PLS!!!!

hey guys ive recently updated my comp graphics in order to run the new gs plugins even after upgrading i get a message (error opeaning GS plugin)

after googleing out my problem i was told that i require pixiel shader 2 or higher after looking up n vedia.com i checked my graphic card and it supports pixiel shader 4(Nvedia GeForce 8400 GS) and when i configure my GS plugin under pixiel shader the box appears to be empty what shoud i do ....the game i tried works but slow (around 12 to 15 fps) and during menus 100 fps...what should i do......pls help

First,update your DirectX:

And you didn't tell us which GS plugin you are using,which version etc.

soo sry abt it ..i have already updated direct x and the rooro comes for all gs plugins besides zerogs kosmos opengl 0.96.7 i used this plugin to run the game after all were showing errors..

my pc config is as follows
intell pentium® D cpu 2.66GHz
1.93 gb RAm
Nvedia GeForce 8400 GS graphic card
mother board- geniune intell d101ggc

You should either use ZeroGS (not the openGL version) or GSdx.Try using the latest GSdx (get it from www.pcsx2.net ) and see what happens.You should use the SSE2 version,the rest will not work with your PC

the ZeroGS KOSMOS plugin says to update direct x and then says error opeanin gs plugin so does the new gs plugin i have downloaded the direct x 9c november 2008 update but still theres a problem

i have tried installing directx through web as u said so but my problem is still the same..............is there any thing else that i caould do....

my graphic card support v4.0 pixiel as well as vertex shader also direct x 10 should i download directx 10 ......also my cpu supports sse3 ...my system meets up with the requirements for smooth game play .....pls tell me what am i doin wrong.SadSadSad

That is strange..have you tried installing the latest Nvidia drivers for you card?
