Ico doesn't work on r4980

I am trying to play Ico. I downloaded pcsx2 version 0.9.9.4980 because I heard that the graphic issues in dmc3 were fixed so then I tried ico to see if those graphic issues went away and it doesn't start. It just goes to the "Sony Computer Entertainment America Presents" screen and then from there on out its just a black screen. I even tried using the GDSx plugin that came with 0.9.8. Still no luck. Any Idea on how I would go about fixing this or what the problem is?

EDIT: Hmmm, seems the alpha hack is what fixed the bad graphics...

Ok, I had issues with my ICO copy as well.
Try disabling your memory cards.
