I apologize for necro'ing this on my first post, but I am having issues similar to this with this same game on the latest SVN5517 version of PCSX2 as well as the release version of PCSX2 1.0.0.

For some reason, the game is exceptionally slow in almost all areas. I could understand this if my system was a bad system or quite slow, but it's a Core 2 gaming system with an Nvidia 9800GT processor that runs Kingdom Hearts I and II just fine.

The frame rate is about 30fps (give or take 5fps) when it should be 60fps.

I've tried enabling all the 'hacks' to speed up the game (including switching on constant frame skipping) but none of them (even the most aggressive and least compatible settings) work to speed up the game.

I've tried software mode and while it restores the 'eyes' in characters (something I am not really all that flussed about) it just slows down the game even more than hardware mode. The funny thing is that the GS% in hardware mode rarely goes over 30% but the EE% is pegging at near 99% all the time.

Is my processor in my P7811FX computer just too slow to run this game? Or do the people here think that there is another issue?

Edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention that the reason I necro'd this post is because I am getting the same VifCmd errors as the first poster, the exact same ones.

can you try the EE Timing Fix Gamefix and tell me if the vifcmd problem persists?

No, the vifcmd problem disappears with that gamefix being enabled.

Okay, going to have to make this a little more clear, since I noticed something after my post. It temporarily fixed the issue. After moving to a new area, the issue came back and the EE timing fix won't fix it now.

This bug is still active in latest git revision. Gamefixes don't affect it, and it only happens to specific orbs, some orbs are fine and others throws these messages. The only thing that affected it was setting the EE/IOP Clamping Mode to Full. The game will now freeze after the "Vif1: Unknown VifCmd!" log entries with "Trap exception at 0x00d70e14".
